Operating under California Health & Safety Code § 1566.3 and Title 22 residential standards, our homes are comfortable single-family residences where transition-age youth learn self-sufficiency in safe, supportive community settings.
Traditional group homes often replicate the rigid, penal environments that foster youth struggle against. Second Chance Homes embeds small cohorts of 4 to 6 young adults in normal residential neighborhoods with 24/7 staff oversight and professional life coaching.
Each residence is selected for its proximity to Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA) bus lines, grocery corridors, and educational hubs.

Our first home in Palmdale — furnished rooms, a shared kitchen, study space, and staff who coach residents on school and work goals. Single rooms for young men ages 18–21.
California state law explicitly establishes that small licensed residential care homes serving 6 or fewer residents are a residential use of property for all municipal zoning, tax, and fire code purposes. They are considered regular single-family residences under California law, ensuring youth can live in normal neighborhoods free from institutional discrimination.
